About Us

Eid Eviger (pronounced  "Eyed-eh-vee-ger")  means “Oath Eternal”.  We are a Theodish religious community practicing in the North Eastern region of Pennsylvania, USA.  We are a reconstructionist Theodish church using a tribal social structural model for determining each person's relationship to the tribe and each other. We worship the Gods of ancient Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and other parts of Northern Europe as well as Iceland and Greenland; most commonly known as the Norse Gods & Goddesses.

Norse religion refers to the religious traditions of the Norsemen before the Christianization of Scandinavia, specifically during the Viking Age. It is a folk religion, which was not necessarily formalized nor categorized as a subset of Germanic paganism until it was described by outsiders who came into contact with native practitioners. It was the northern variation of the religion practiced in the lands inhabited by the Germanic tribes across most of Northern and Central Europe before Roman and Holy Roman incursions.   Knowledge of Norse religion is mostly drawn from the results of archaeological fieldwork, etymology, and early written materials as it was largely a product of early practitioners who did not have a written history.  However, some folklore and traditions have been found and/or interpreted in  Sagas and the Poetic Edda.

Eid Eviger's members are at-large in their neighborhoods, towns, and communities throughout the areas of NE Pennsylvania and Eastern New York State.  Some are professionals; others work side by side with their neighbors at local businesses and factories, and some are homemakers and retirees.

We gather throughout the year to venerate the Gods, work on projects, celebrate the feasts and seasons of the agricultural calendar, and embrace our traditions.

Northern Lights

Mission

Eid Eviger's mission is to reconstruct and grow a religious community in the style and format of the ancient folk religions of Northern Europe using the Theodish tradition as a model.

Presently we are working to raise funds to purchase a few acres of land to establish a cemetery for the underserved Asatru, Heathen, Pagan, and Wiccan communities.

If you wish to donate land or contribute to this essential cause, please contact us.
